Elaine Buck & Beverly Mills, authors of “If These Stones Could Talk,” will be sharing a presentation based on their newest book, “African Americans of Central New Jersey: A History of Harmony and Hostility.” Copies of both books will be available for purchase at Act 2 Books (24 Central Avenue, Flemington) and at the event.Iby Ikotidem, celebrating her 16th Black History Month event in Hunterdon County, will lead an interactive community conversation on “What does Black History Month mean to you?”
Ready to Run® is a non-partisan campaign training program to encourage women to run for elective office, position themselves for appointive office, work on a campaign, or get involved in public life in other ways. CAWP's (Center for American Women and Politics) model curriculum covers fundraising, positioning oneself for elected office, navigating the political party structure, media training, the nuts and bolts of organizing a campaign, mobilizing voters, and crafting a message.
Rutgers Center for American Woman and Politics runs a fantastic program for women who are considering a run for office or just want to learn more about how to run a campaign.
